May 19, 2008 - The Georgia Technology Authority has issued a Request for Qualified Contractors (RFQC) to enhance and improve the state’s e-government services.

Selected vendors from the RFQC will be able to bid on a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide government services and content to constituents through an online web portal.   The project aims to reduce the cost of government while allowing constituents more flexible options for doing business with the state.

The state is looking for a single general contractor to provide the services, which include application development, content management and other tools to help state agencies deliver online services and information to citizens and businesses.   The general contractor will work with GTA to identify ways to move the state's web portal to a self-supporting model in the future.

The RFQC is available on the State Procurement Registry.  Responses are due by June 3, 2008, at 1 p.m.

Launched in July 2002, www.georgia.gov provides Georgians with a single point of access to online government information and services. The portal currently attracts some 5 million page visits per month and features links to more than 120 online services and over 700 state and local government sites.
