Motor Vehicle Reports
Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) provide you with summaries of individual drivers’ driving histories. GTA and the Department of Driver Services offer these reports online to all certified customers.
Three types of information are available through MVRs:
- Insurance companies, insurance support organizations and rental car agencies that maintain their own insurance division can request reports for insurance purposes. The information provided includes name, date of birth, address, license number, license type/class, endorsements, expiration date, restrictions, status, citation descriptions, suspension descriptions/dates, and other applicable information. Employers can also obtain this information for employment purposes. Each company must have written consent on file from the individual to request the MVR.

- Information for credit purposes in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This information includes name, date of birth, address, license number and license status.
- Limited Rating Information (LRI) – Only certified insurance agents can request this information, which includes name, date of birth, license number and status. It also contains a summary of the number of violations relating to driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances, and the number and type of other moving traffic violations that the proposed insured driver committed.
