The Georgia Technology Authority issued Requests for Proposal (RFPs) on April 21, 2008, to potential service providers who pre-qualified to bid on contracts for Georgia Infrastructure Transformation (GAIT) 2010.
The RFP for managed network services, which includes the state’s wide area network, was issued to:
- AT&T
- EDS
- Northrop Grumman
The RFP for infrastructure services – which includes data centers, mainframes, servers, PCs and laptops – was issued to:
- EDS
- IBM
- Northrop Grumman
The potential service providers were selected to receive the RFPs based on their responses to a Request for Qualified Contractors (RFQC). They will be given about six weeks to submit their proposals.
Because GTA’s pre-qualified service providers are the only service providers authorized to bid on these RFPs, proposals will not be solicited from the general public on the State Procurement Registry. The content of the RFPs is subject to change through the process of evaluation and contract negotiation and will not be final until the contracts are signed later in 2008. The RFPs will be refined over many months of collaborative work between state agencies, GTA and the potential service providers. Our goal is to enable the potential service providers to provide the best responses possible so the state of
Development of the RFQC and RFPs was a highly collaborative process involving more than 100 key IT, business and human resource managers from 13 state agencies. The same level of collaboration and input from state agencies will continue throughout the process of evaluating proposals from the potential service providers. GTA also continues to work closely with the Department of Administrative Services, the Office of Planning and Budget, and the State Personnel Administration on issues and concerns related to the state’s IT consolidation and outsourcing initiative.
Next Steps
- Competitive bidding − April through October 2008
