About Your Training

All training participants

To enroll in a course, first complete the GTA Learning Center access request form for state employees or state contractors. If you already have access to the Learning Center, log in and enroll in the course. Some courses may require additional approval from the course administrator or your supervisor.

PM certification participants

  • Send an email to epmo@gta.ga.gov requesting to apply to the Georgia Certified Project Manager Program.
  • Complete the application and Project Manager Competency Self-assessment and return them to the program director.
  • If requested, the program director will review your assessment with you and assist with your development plan.
  • Complete the Learning Center access request form for state employees.
  • Register for the appropriate courses in your track through the Learning Center, and you are on your way to achieving your certification.

PM training course completion policy

To complete the course, you must attend the full class and complete the course exam. If you are attending the Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT), you must attend the full class and complete the exam, submitting it per the instructor’s requirements. Not meeting these requirements will result in an incomplete status for the course, and a course certificate will not be issued. You must then register for another session and re-take the course.

If an emergency prevents you from completing the course, be sure to make arrangements with the instructor to complete the course.

Class enrollment policy

All GTA Training classes have a minimum number of enrollees unless otherwise indicated. GTA Training reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule a class that doesn't meet the minimum requirement of five enrollees. Cancellation will occur three business days before the start of class, and an email notification will be sent to registered enrollees.

Training attendance policy

GTA Training classes begin and end at the scheduled time. To be respectful of instructors and other class participants, please arrive on time. If you are running late or will be absent on the day of training, email the GTA Training and Education Team.

Class drop policy

All GTA Training class registrations close three business days before the start of class. Cancellations must be submitted through the Learning Center using the Drop feature.

If you request to drop a course after the registration period is closed, you will be considered a No Show. You will receive a notification if you accumulate a total of three No Show's. After the fourth No Show, GTA Training will automatically remove you from the program.

If you have to drop a course after the registration period is closed due to an emergency, submit your cancellation to the GTA Training and Education Team by email and include:

  • Your name
  • Course title and date
  • Reason for late drop

Course materials

To download course materials, log in to the Learning Center, find the title of your course and select the paper clip under Actions. Unless otherwise stated, no materials will be distributed in class, so be sure to download and bring them with you.

Location

Courses scheduled at a GTA Training facility will be held at 47 Trinity Avenue, S.W., in Atlanta on either the ground floor or the 7th floor. Please be prepared to show your state ID or other photo ID to security personnel when you enter the building.

Parking

Parking is available at the Pete Hackney parking deck, 162 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive, and costs $5 per day. Public parking is also available on Washington Street between Trinity Avenue and Memorial Drive.

Break room

A break room with vending machines, microwave ovens and refrigerators is available for your use on the 1st floor. In addition, a cafeteria is located on the 6th floor.

Attire

Appropriate business attire is suggested. Since temperatures in classrooms may vary widely, we also suggest dressing to accommodate those fluctuations.
