The projects, selected by an evaluation committee representing the public and private sectors, will be honored at a luncheon as part of the Georgia Digital Government Summit on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

"GTA’s Technology Innovation Showcase attracted some very impressive projects again this year," said Calvin Rhodes, State CIO and GTA Executive Director, in announcing this year's top honors. "Since we began the recognition program in 2012, we’ve seen an increase both in interest and in the quality of projects submitted. I believe that’s a reflection of the important work being accomplished to better meet the needs of Georgians."

Project overviews briefly describe the business issue each project sought to address and the innovative technology employed.

The evaluation committee assessed each project according to how well it met the following criteria:

  • Level of innovation in addressing a specific business problem
  • Significance to improving business processes and operating efficiency
  • Significance to financial savings or cost avoidance
  • Significance to enhancing service delivery to external or internal customers

The Showcase serves as a forum for honoring outstanding work at the state and local government levels while promoting the sharing of ideas, experiences and lessons learned. For the 2015 Showcase, projects could be nominated in one of nine categories:

  • Cross-boundary Collaboration and Partnerships
  • Data, Information and Knowledge Management
  • Digital Government – Government to Business
  • Digital Government – Government to Citizen
  • Enterprise IT Management Initiatives
  • Improving State or Local Government Operations
  • Information Communications Technology Innovations
  • Open Government Initiatives
