In this position, he has been instrumental in improving the performance and reliability of infrastructure, enhancing plant maintenance, and successfully launching key products and network enhancements. In addition, Mr. Murphy has played a critical role in helping to build stronger communications and coordination between engineering, operations and customer care, resulting in an improved overall customer experience.

Mr. Murphy has been in the cable industry for over 31 years. Prior to joining Comcast, he served as Vice President of Engineering and Technical Operations for Charter Communication’s Mid-West market. Under his leadership, it became one of Charter’s best performing markets.

His other previous roles include Corporate Vice President of Field Technical Operations for Charter Communications in Denver as well as Vice President of Technical Operations and Engineering for Comcast’s Chicago system and its predecessor companies, AT&T Broadband and TCI.

From 1974 to 1979, Mr. Murphy served in the United States Navy and was educated in electronics and cable TV communication at vocational colleges in Minnesota.
