Data Development

This project's purpose is to develop information resources that will be useful in the planning and implementation of broadband and information technologies to increase Georgia’s participation in the digital economy.

The project is a collaboration among GTA, Sanborn, The University of Georgia and broadband service providers in Georgia and the regional commissions whose objectives are to:

  1. Inventory and map broadband service availability statewide in partnership with all of Georgia’s broadband service providers.
  2. Inventory and map broadband service capabilities in Georgia’s Community Anchor Institutions (CAI) such as health care, education and public safety locations.
  3. Provide the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NITA) with inventory data updates every six months to be incorporated into the National Broadband Map.
  4. Provide an interactive online mapping tool for Georgia citizens, businesses and institutions to explore the information being collected and analyzed, which can be found at
