GTA offers enterprise-level cloud solutions to state agencies and other government entities throughout Georgia. With tiered pricing models, comprehensive onboarding services, and flexible support options available from our pre-approved vendors, GTA achieves lower costs through volume discounts and smooths the way for easy procurement.

As you get ready to migrate your applications to the cloud environment, the GTA Cloud Services team will partner with you from scoping and planning all the way through implementation. We will analyze your infrastructure, assist with migration planning and processes, optimize cost and security measures as well as deliver ongoing support.

  • Volume Pricing Discounts

    Contracting for this service through GTA supports good stewardship of public funds. Thanks to volume pricing in the commercial cloud marketplace, the more agencies that join, the lower the price becomes for everyone who participates.

  • Easy Procurement

    Getting to your cloud services through GTA cuts down on paperwork and makes the procurement process move faster than going at it alone. The program is endorsed by the Governor's Office and covered by one Interagency Agreement.

  • Agency Autonomy

    Technical teams within agencies retain control over how they use and manage the cloud. GTA offers additional support with migration and a portfolio of extra support services. You maintain your relationship with the vendor while enjoying the discounts that come with being part of a larger organization.

 Subscription Options

  • 1. AWS Account Only (Unmanaged Space)
    • Full administrative access
    • No involvement from GTA except the volume price discounts, ease of procurement, and billing
  • 2. Guardrails from GTA plus AWS Support

    This options gives you enhanced security and peace of mind with automated security assessments, ensuring compliance with various policies and blocking unauthorized actions. It includes:

    • Light monitoring and oversight from GTA
    • Enrollment in AWS Support
    • Additional support from pre-approved vendors as needed

    With option 2, you can secure your organization's digital assets with a smart and professional support system without the hassle of handling tickets or needing to perform constant surveillance.

  • 3. Amazon Managed Service (AMS)

    Includes support from both GTA and AWS.

    This option is designed to streamline your cloud experience by offering valuable support for tasks such as backups and monitoring. Enabling AMS Accelerate connects you to proactive monitoring and automation such as tracking disk usage and enforcing rules. GTA works in tandem with AWS professionals and offers weekly office hours to address concerns.

    Additionally, if you need help with cloud migrations, GTA is here to assist with full-service migrations.

Additional Services

  • Security Management

    Certain types of data require additional security management.

    Agencies that house Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) data in the cloud must be encrypted in transit by a virtual escort solution to comply with security regulations.

    The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has approved the use of BeyondTrust, and GTA has confirmed it will work with AWS Managed Services (AMS) and AWS Support. BeyondTrust can be purchased from one of the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) Statewide Software Contracts vendors.

  • Full-service Cloud Migrations

    GTA and AWS have established a full-service cloud migration program for Georgia agencies.

    Well-defined processes and techniques are already set up between GTA, AWS, and our trusted vendor partners to provide an efficient and cost-effective cloud migration experience.

    Agencies are encouraged to migrate their data and applications to the cloud. We are here to help you make the transition successful.

  • Training and Onboarding

    Included in your subscription:

    • Regular lunch 'n' learns: Take part in ongoing training and support throughout the year.
    • Office hours with GTA and AWS teams: Get personal support to solve issues.
    • TCSG Cloud Academy: Earn AWS certification from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) on a timeline that fits your schedule.
    • GTA courses: Get the same training offered by TCSG but on a condensed schedule.

    There is no additional charge to your agency as long as you have a subscription to the cloud. It is all provided by GTA.
