David Emerson has served as a judge of the Douglas Superior Court since 1991. During that time, he has lead numerous court technology initiatives in the Douglas Circuit as well as statewide. He previously served as the Chairman of the Georgia Courts Automation Commission, and he is an active member of the Supreme Court’s Technology Advisory Committee. He serves as an officer of the Council of Superior Court Judges of Georgia. He also has trained other judges in the use of technology in the courts on numerous occasions.
Judge Emerson graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) in 1973 and a Juris Doctor degree in 1976. He practiced law in Douglasville for 15 years prior to his election to the Superior Court bench.
