Intrustion detection

A device or software application that monitors a network or systems for malicious activity or policy violations.

Virtual private network

Extends a private network across a public network, and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network.

Vulnerability scanning

An inspection of the potential points of exploit on a computer or network to identify security holes. The scan detects and classifies system weaknesses in computers, networks and communications equipment and predicts the effectiveness of countermeasures.

Data loss prevention

Software detects potential data breaches/data ex-filtration transmissions and prevents them by monitoring, detecting and blocking sensitive data while in-use, in-motion, and at-rest.

Anti-virus

A computer program used to prevent, detect, and remove malware.

Firewalls

A network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules. A firewall typically establishes a barrier between a trusted internal network and untrusted external network, such as the Internet.
