Shawnzia Thomas named GTA Executive Director and State CIO; Jessica Simmons to join GTA as Deputy State CIO

Governor Brian P. Kemp announced today the selection of Shawnzia Thomas as the Executive Director of GTA and State Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective July 1. The Georgia Technology Authority Board of Directors earlier today affirmed the selection of Ms. Thomas, who is currently serving as Assistant Deputy Commissioner at the Georgia Department of Human Services.

The Governor also announced the appointment of Jessica Simmons as Deputy Chief Information Officer for Broadband and Special Projects at GTA, effective July 15. Ms. Simmons is currently a Deputy Commissioner for the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Both appointments are detailed in a news release issued by the Governor's Office on June 17.
