Eight projects have been selected to receive top honors in the 2016 Technology Innovation Showcase:

  • Sales Ratio Study Application: Department of Audits and Accounts
  • Cobb Commute: Cobb County
  • For-Hire Endorsement Online: Department of Driver Services
  • Student Registration Online Learning Management System: Georgia Public Safety Training Center
  • TOPICS Quick Free Form: Department of Labor
  • Public Dashboards: Department of Revenue
  • Information Communications Technology Solutions: Department of Transportation
  • Student Success Analytics Project: University System of Georgia

The projects, selected by an evaluation committee representing the public and private sectors, will be honored at a luncheon as part of the Georgia Digital Government Summit on September 29, 2016.

Project overviews briefly describe the business issue each project sought to address and the innovative technology employed.

The evaluation committee assessed each project according to how well it met the following criteria:

  • Level of innovation in addressing a specific business problem
  • Significance to improving business processes and operating efficiency
  • Significance to financial savings or cost avoidance
  • Significance to enhancing service delivery to external or internal customers

The Showcase serves as a forum for honoring outstanding work at the state and local government levels while promoting the sharing of ideas, experiences and lessons learned. For the 2016 Showcase, projects could be nominated in one of nine categories:

  • Cross-boundary Collaboration and Partnerships
  • Data, Information and Knowledge Management
  • Digital Government – Government to Business
  • Digital Government – Government to Citizen
  • Enterprise IT Management Initiatives
  • Improving State or Local Government Operations
  • Information Communications Technology Innovations
  • Open Government Initiatives
  • Cyber Security Initiatives
