StateScoop has named GTA's Kendra Skeene to the list of Top Women in Technology for the second year in a row.

Ms. Skeene, product director for Digital Services Georgia, is one of several women from state and local government and private industry who have been recognized for "their dedication, excellence, and use of technology in the course of public service."

In announcing this year's list, StateScoop editors said the honorees "are helping to lead as the landscape continues to shift for the technology workforce."

Ms. Skeene leads the team responsible for managing the enterprise web-publishing platform supporting 82 state agency websites. In 2017, she led the initiative to serve all content over HTTPS for secure browsing. She also led the development of AskGeorgiaGov, a voice interface delivering state information through Amazon's Alexa. She is currently managing a re-platforming effort to provide a consistent and intuitive user experience for interacting with state government, regardless of agency, service, or service channel. Ms. Skeene frequently speaks to technology conferences, and she is a prolific writer and champion for digital best practices and user inclusion.

In developing the profiles of the honorees, StateScoop editors asked each one to recall their proudest achievement of the previous year, explain their experience as a woman in the technology workforce, anticipate the future, and share the best career advice they ever received. "We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Kendra's skill and professionalism as a member of the Digital Services Georgia team," said Chief Digital Officer Nikhil Deshpande. "Her contributions to state government are making a tangible difference in the way information and services are provided to Georgians. I'm proud to congratulate her once again on this singular honor."
