Registration is now open for the 2018 Georgia Digital Government Summit, an annual event for both IT and business leaders from state and local governments. It will take place September 20 (all day) and 21 (ends at noon) at the Westin Buckhead, 3391 Peachtree Road, N.E., in Atlanta. The registration fee is $25 for public-sector employees.

As in previous years, the agenda was set by an advisory board comprised of representatives from state and local government agencies in Georgia. This year’s seven breakout sessions are:

  • Atlanta Ransomware Incident – Lessons Learned
  • Maintaining Control in the Cloud
  • Resource Sharing Successes
  • Georgia’s Smart Program
  • Reinventing the Customer Experience
  • Data Privacy Strategies
  • Smart Cities and the Evolution of Transportation

The summit also features three general sessions:

  • Artificial Intelligence and What It Means for Government
  • Georgia Cyber Center – It’s Live!
  • Active Shooter Scenarios

Meanwhile, opening keynote speaker Michael Hakkarinen, an instructional technology specialist with the Utah Education Network, will discuss ways to find balance in our digitally evolving world. Featured speaker Catherine Sanderson, Ph.D., Manwell Family Professor of Life Sciences at Amherst College, will examine the science of success.

In addition, state and local government agencies will be recognized for their technology achievements with the presentation of the annual Georgia Technology Innovation Showcase awards, and leading technology companies will exhibit their latest products and services.
