Councils and Guidance

GTA hosts a number of regular meetings focused on understanding technology needs across agencies, and communicating policies, standards, guidelines and other solutions.

The Business Management Council is composed of the heads of state agencies that receive all their IT infrastructure and managed network services through the Georgia Enterprise Technology Services (GETS) program. The heads of these GETS full-service agencies may also designate a representative to attend council meetings on their behalf. The council is chaired by the State CIO, and it provides a forum for agency heads to learn about issues and successes in providing IT services to their agencies. This meeting occurs on a quarterly basis.

The GETS CIO Council is composed of the CIOs from GETS full-service agencies or their representatives, and is chaired by the State CIO. It provides a forum for CIOs to discuss strategic enterprise initiatives and issues. This meeting occurs on a monthly basis.

The CIO Council focuses on agency-spanning technology issues and opportunities of a strategic nature. Day-to-day problems are not addressed in this meeting. On a quarterly basis, all Georgia agency CIOs are invited to attend and share information. On a monthly basis, this meeting focuses on the strategic initiatives of GETS full-service agencies.
