We aim to enhance security on state networks, develop a cyber-ready workforce, and build enduring partnerships.
GTA OIS is available to assist state and local government entities with questions related to cybersecurity.
On September 16, 2022, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a first-of-its-kind cybersecurity program specifically for state, local, and territorial (SLT) governments across the country.
GTA OIS works collaboratively with information security organizations at all levels of state government. We offer assistance and subject matter expertise to help build, manage, and mature cybersecurity programs as well as provide support to identify and manage IT-related risk.
Using the NIST Risk Management Framework and CIS 18 Critical Controls as our guide and leveraging our partnerships from the MS-ISAC, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Georgia Department of Defense, OIS acts as an advisor and consultant to agencies. We assist executives, security officers, business owners, and IT departments in developing comprehensive security strategies and methods to define, implement, and continuously monitor the cybersecurity structures that support their mission in a constantly changing cyber landscape.
In addition, information security policies and standards issued by GTA play a critical role in reducing risk in the state's technology enterprise.
