The following nine projects have been selected to receive top honors in the 2017 Technology Innovation Showcase:

  • Inmate Re-entry Project — Department of Corrections, Department of Driver Services
  • DCSS Child Support Mobile App — Department of Human Services, Division of Child Support Services
  • Fraud Management Solution — Department of Revenue
  • Electronic Case Filing — Fulton County
  • How GIS Web Applications Improved the Elections Process — Fulton County
  • Adult Education Chatbot — Technical College System of Georgia
  • BANNER Mobile — Technical College System of Georgia

The projects, selected by an evaluation panel representing the public and private sectors, will be honored at a luncheon as part of the Georgia Digital Government Summit (www.govtech.com/events/Georgia-Digital-Government-Summit.html) on October 30, 2017.

All nominated projects were evaluated on such criteria as the level of innovation in addressing a specific business problem and the significance of the project to improving operating efficiency, saving money, and enhancing service delivery.

GTA began sponsoring the showcase in 2012 as a way to recognize outstanding work at the state and local government levels while promoting the sharing of ideas, experiences, and lessons learned.

A Call for Submissions for the 2018 showcase will be issued in January.
