Georgia receives approval of BEAD Initial Proposal Volume II

Yesterday, Georgia's Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program Initial Proposal Volume II was approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). This approval allows the Georgia Technology Authority to open a competitive grant process in fall 2024 to allocate the $1.3 billion that Georgia will receive from the BEAD Program to reach the remaining unserved and underserved locations in the state.

Additional information regarding the grant application process, including a timeline and technical assistance, will be released in the coming days.

A copy of the Volume II proposal can be found on the GTA BEAD Program webpage.

Any questions about the BEAD Program can be directed to the GTA Office of Broadband.
