The annual StateScoop 50 Awards recognize leaders and innovative projects in state government and the IT community. Georgia has won in two categories following nominations and public voting for the 2025 awards.

The Orchard Design System received a State IT Innovation of the Year award. Devised and implemented by the Georgia Technology Authority Office of Digital Services and Solutions, Orchard ensures a consistent user experience across the 100+ websites and applications on the GeorgiaGov digital platform. More than a style guide or set of templates, it is a collection of reusable components with clear standards for their use. Components can be assembled to build various applications, always preserving a familiar look and feel. Orchard meets accessibility requirements and ensures all citizens, including those with disabilities, can access state services.

Georgia Office of the Secretary of State CIO Jonathan Reich was recognized with a State Leadership of the Year award. Mr. Reich has more than 27 years of experience in IT, including a background in the public and private sectors. He has provided leadership for organizations like the city of Gainesville and Fulton County.

"For the 12th year, the StateScoop 50 Awards truly represent the best of the best across the state government technology community," said Jake Williams, senior VP of modernization and SLED at Scoop News Group. "From some of the most tenured IT leaders to some of the newest faces on the scene, state IT leaders are doing big things to improve life for their residents."

The 2025 awards recognized leaders and projects from 21 states and executives from 13 companies. The complete list of winners is published on the StateScoop website.
