GTA is recognized as a Model Agency for HR excellence

The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) recently received the "Model Agency Award" as part of the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) FY2025 Human Resources (HR) Assessment. GTA earned a Tier 1 "model compliance" high ranking for having a robust, innovative, and fully compliant HR program. GTA’s Human Resources team was recognized for demonstrating a strong command of HR best practices, workforce strategies and compliance with all applicable policies, rules, laws and regulations.

"Behind every cutting-edge technology solution we deliver for the state, this enthusiastic group of HR professionals drives the culture, compliance, and talent strategy that powers it all. From navigating complex policies to creating a people-first workplace, this award is a testament to their expertise and dedication," says State CIO and GTA Executive Director Shawnzia Thomas.

The DOAS HR Assessment offers a snapshot of statewide HR practices compared to other executive branch agencies. It's a vital instrument for state agencies to identify strengths, improvement areas and growth opportunities within their HR programs and mitigate potential risks. GTA is one of thirteen participating agencies with the highest assessment ratings results in the Tier 1 category.

"This award reflects our team’s unwavering commitment to excellence and the incredible passion that we bring daily to navigate complex challenges while keeping people at the center of our mission, which makes our agency thrive," says Chief of People Operations Tamara Mosley. "Our work is foundational to everything we do—supporting top-tier talent and enabling the innovative technology solutions GTA delivers for the state."
