Policies and Planning
The Enterprise Governance and Planning (EGAP) division of GTA provides a number of services to state agencies to enable them to plan, manage, and deliver technology services to their constituents.
Our work falls into three primary focus areas.
Policies and standards
GTA has a legislative responsibility to provide IT policies and standards for state agencies. As sources for policies and standards, GTA generally uses industry and federal government best practices, such as the Federal Information Security and Management Act (FISMA) for security, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) for technology infrastructure, and the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) for project management. In some cases, materials are used as guidelines, with attribution, where more detailed explanations may facilitate agency understanding.
Training and education
The GTA Learning Academy is the learning management system that streamlines the training registration process, allows users to access virtual instructor-led training (VILT) and instructor-led training (ILT), helps supervisors be well-informed about their team's training goals and administrators manage training events, and enables reporting on training events.
The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) offers the following consulting services to state agencies:
- Assessments (project, program, application)
- Governance support (project, program, application)
- Investment management support
- Professional development
- Project assurance
