Governance, Risk and Consulting

The Office of Information Security's Risk Management and Consultancy (RMC) team works collaboratively with the information security organizations at all levels of state government. They offer assistance and subject matter expertise to help build, manage and mature cyber security programs as well as provide support to identify and manage IT-related risk.

Using the NIST Risk Management Framework as our guide and leveraging our partnerships from the MS-ISAC, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Georgia Department of Defense, team members act as advisors and consultants to assist agency executives, security officers, business owners and IT departments in developing comprehensive security strategies and methods to define, implement and continuously monitor the cyber security structures that support their missions in a constantly changing and challenging cyber landscape.

The RMC team is also central to supporting the statewide Cybersecurity Review Board in accomplishing its goal and delivering on its mission to support the cyber security programs and to monitor the security risk profiles and risk management initiatives of all agencies. The RMC team provides an array of support services to state agencies.

In addition, IT Policies, Standards, and Guidelines play a critical role in reducing risk in the state's technology enterprise.
