Best Practices to Right-size Consumption
- Limit database storage to peak usage plus 20 percent (source: Gartner).
- Select the proper SAN tier for the business need (data and performance).
- Ensure stored data is agency-related and eliminate non-business usage (e.g., personal music and video files).
- Eliminate data redundancy (e.g., multiple copies of databases).
- Determine and enforce data retention requirements.
