Network Services

GTA Direct initially held several managed services contracts in specialized technology categories including wireline and wireless telecommunications, data center services, and end-user computing. The program has expanded and now includes network services to enhance GTA's role as the state government network services provider. Network services are applications linked in order to share resources or allow electronic communication.

More detailed GTA Direct service descriptions and pricing are available to state and local government entities. For more information than what is available below, please complete this brief webform.

  • Broadband

High-speed internet access data transmission that is always accessible and faster than traditional access techniques. Multiple signals and traffic types are transported across a wide bandwidth.

It is a network of direct paths between two termination points - one at the customer's location and the other at the carrier's central office (CO) or local broadband aggregation node. These paths are carried on coaxial or fiber-optic cables and have a wider bandwidth than conventional telephone lines, giving hem the ability to carry video, voice, and data simultaneously.

    Providers

    AT&T and Comcast Business

  • Dedicated Corporate Circuits

Private components used for the design, procurement, installation, and support of ancillary services.

They provide a continuous electrical connection between two points designed to work with a single piece of equipment. It has its own circuit breaker, and no other piece of equipment is connected.

    Providers

Accelecom, AT&T, CenturyLink (Lumen), Comcast Business, and Verizon

  • Dedicated Internet

A private, fixed-bandwidth, always-available connection between a state entity and the internet.

Unlike broadband service, customers do not have to compete with other subscribers for bandwidth.

    Providers

Accelecom, AT&T, CenturyLink (Lumen), Comcast Business, and Verizon

  • PSTN Voice

Public switched telephone network (PSTN) voice is a collection of circuit-switched telephone networks operated by local, regional or national operators, providing infrastructure and services of public telecommunication.

    Providers

AT&T, CenturyLink (Lumen), and Comcast Business

  • Cable and Wiring

Design and installation of inside cable and wiring projects.

    Providers

AT&T, Big Fish, CooperCraft, NetPlanner, and Verizon

  • Managed Wi-Fi

A wireless network solution that enables a state entity to outsource all or part of the tasks required to implement a strong, seamless connection to a Wi-Fi network.

It is an enterprise solution that involves the design, procurement, installation, maintenance, monitoring and upgrading of a Wi-Fi network.

    Providers

Big Fish, CenturyLink (Lumen), Comcast Business, Netplanner, and Verizon

  • Unified Communications

The integration of enterprise services and products encompassing all forms of communication exchanged via a network to optimize business processes.

It provides a customer with a consistent unified interface and user experience across multiple devices and media types such as instant messaging (chat), voice, mobility, audio, web and video conferencing, desktop and data sharing, and speech recognition with non-real-time communication services like unified messaging (integrated voicemail, email, SMS, and fax).

    Providers

AT&T, Big Fish, CenturyLink (Lumen), Comcast Business, Verizon, and Zoom
