Cloud Training

In coordination with the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), GTA is offering AWS Cloud courses taught virtually through Gwinnett Technical College. Upon successful course completion, students can go on to earn a professional certification by taking and passing an AWS certification exam. Tuition, textbook, and exam expense are covered by GTA.

Courses are open to full-time technical employees at state agencies that have obtained AWS accounts via GTA. Students must also receive their manager's approval to participate.

  • AWS Cloud Operations

    CIST 2484, March 6 - May 6, 2024

    AWS Cloud Operations is designed to prepare learners to pursue entry-level DevOps, support, and cloud operations roles. This course will help prepare learners to take the AWS SysOps Administrator Associate exam. Emphasizing best practices in the AWS Cloud and recommended design patterns, this course teaches learners how to solve problems and troubleshoot various scenarios. In addition, this course will show learners how to create automatable and repeatable deployment of networks and systems on AWS and covers specific AWS features and tools related to configuration and deployment. With case studies and demonstrations, learners will gain insight to how some AWS customers design their infrastructure and implement various strategies and services. Learners will also have the opportunity to build a variety of infrastructure via guided, hands-on activities.

    This course is intended for students who have successfully completed the AWS Foundations course and have some prior IT knowledge or experience, especially in networking or object-oriented programming languages.

  • AWS Cloud Developing

    CIST 2482, March 6 - May 6, 2024

    AWS Cloud Developing is designed to help learners gain technical expertise in development using cloud technologies and prepare them to take the AWS Certified Developer Associate level AWS certification exam.

    This course is intended for students who have successfully completed the AWS Foundations course and have prior knowledge or experience in software development or Python programming language.
